Abstract

Every pregnancy is a unique experience for the women and each pregnancy that the women experience will be new and different.

The research design adopted for this study was Non experimental-descriptive design. Non probability purposive sampling technique was used. As per the inclusion criteria, 343 samples were screened to identify the prevalence of GDM and associated risk factors of antennal mothers.

The study finding revealed that the prevalence of GDM is 10.5%. The study has found out the risk factors such as age, job status, pre pregnant BMI, family history of Diabetes mellitus and hypertension, menstrual cycle and history of polycystic ovarian syndrome for development of GDM in current pregnancy.

This study showed that the prevalence of GDM is rising in our country
