A study to assess the difficulties perceived by the health care professionals in providing perinatal care information to the mothers attending maternity centres in selected settings in chennai

Perinatal education is an important component during pregnancy to have child survival and safe motherhood which has always been a concern in the health care field, and the health care professionals like doctors, nurses and midwives play an eminent role in access to promote good service and to obtain good Perinatal outcome.

1. To assess the difficulties perceived by the health care professionals in providing Perinatal care information to the mothers attending maternity centers in selected settings in Chennai. 2. To associate the difficulties perceived by the health care professionals in providing Perinatal care information to the mothers with demographic variables.

It is an exploratory research approach with descriptive research design was used conducted among 30 doctors and 30 nurses at government and private settings using non-probability purposive sampling.

out of 60 samples majority of 25 doctors and 20 nurses provide Perinatal care information through individual teaching will be effective. Conclusion: Health care professionals perceived difficulties in disseminating information and should adopt information effectively to improve Perinatal outcome.
