The study was conducted to determine whether the application of coconut oil made any significant difference in reducing vaginal dryness in post menopausal women in a selected community area at Coimbatore. A quasi experimental pre-test, post-test control group design was used. The data were collected from 50 postmenopausal women of which 25 were in experimental group and 25 were in control group selected by purposive sampling technique. The total duration of the study was 30 days. Questionnaire, Structured interview schedule and Observational checklist tools were used for this study. The major findings of the study shows that in the experimental group, mean score percentage on overall levels of vaginal dryness before intervention was found to be 57.14%, after intervention there was a drastic reduction in the mean score to 18.47%. In control group, the mean score percentage on overall levels of vaginal dryness before intervention was found to be 57.71% and after 30 days there was no much change in the mean score percentage (59.05%).
