Compare the pain perception and uterine contraction during active phase of labour among mothers

Introduction: Labour is the series of events by which uterine contractions and abdominal pressure expel the foetus, placenta and membranes out of the uterus through the birth canal.. Methods: The research design adopted for this study was Non experimental - descriptive design. 30 samples were selected through Non probability purposive sampling technique. Modified McGill Melzack scale uterine intensity and numeric rating scale for pain perception are used to selecte the data. Results: The study finding revealed that the 93.3% of the samples had severe pain perception and 6.7% of the samples had moderate pain perception where as 40% of the samples had excruciating intensity, 50% of the samples had extreme intensity and 10% of the samples had severe intensity. Conclusion: The study concluded that there was a positive correlation between pain perception and uterine intensity.
