A descriptive study to assess the risk factor for predicting venous thromboembolism among postnatal mothers in smvmch at Kalitheerthalkuppam, Puducherry

The aim of the study was to assess the risk factor for predicting venous thromboembolism among postnatal mothers in SMVMCH at kalitheerthalkuppam, puducherry. The study was conducted among 30 postnatal mothers undergone delivery who were selected by using purposive sampling technique and used descriptive research design. The data were collected by modified standardize tool and analysed by inferential statistics. The study findings revealed that in low risk in 28 (93.3%), intermediate risk in 2 (6.7%) and high risk had none of the post -natal mothers 0(0%). The mean value of the level of risk assessment for predicting venous thromboembolism among postnatal mothers is 1.0667 and standard deviation is.2537. The study concludes that necessity of risk factors for predicting Venous thromboembolism among postnatal mothers and making them to show the improvement in prevention of VTE through Predicting the risk factors earlier and prompt treatment in appropriate time to prevent maternal morbidity and mortality rate.
