Poly cystic ovarian disease (PCOD) is a condition that affects a women's hormonal level. Yoga may decrease the level of PCOD and thereby reducing the complications in the future. The present study analysed the “Effectiveness of Baddha Konasana on PCOD among girls at selected colleges, Chennai”.
By using non probability purposive sampling technique, a group of 30 girls were selected. Quantitative approach with quasi experimental design was adopted for the study. PCOD was assessed based on Rotter Dam Criteria. The tool used was analyzed for reliability and feasibility and then main study was carried out for one month. The data obtained using the tool was analyzed in the form of descriptive and inferential statistics.
The major finding of the study revealed that overall mean of pretest 6.66 with SD 1.43. And in the post test the mean was 3.46 with SD 0.87 and the paired “t” value was 0.72. It was statistically significant at 0.05 level.
Therefore the researchers concluded saying that Baddha Konassana was very effective and useful in reducing the symptoms of PCOD.
