Correlation of maternal positions on maternal and fetal parameters during non-stress test among antenatal mothers at svmch& rc, Puducherry

The test is named “non-stress” because no stress is placed on fetus during the test. The purpose of the study is to correlate the maternal positions on maternal and fetal parameters during Non- Stress Test among antenatal mothers. A descriptive correlational design was used to conduct this study at Sri Venkateshwara Medical College Hospital & Research Center, Puducherry. 60 antenatal mothers of 32-37 weeks of gestation were selected through convenience sampling technique. The procedure was carried out in four different positions for four different groups. The demographic variables were collected. By using Modified American Heart Association and Women's Health & Education Center Maternal Observation Scale and Modified American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Fetal Observation Scale, the maternal and fetal parameters were assessed. The results states, overall r value was 0.28 and there is a positive correlation in left- lateral position between the maternal and fetal parameters during Non- Stress Test when compared to other positions.
