Postpartum psychological status and post operative recovery among women undergone lower segmental caesarean section

Abstract

Postpartum depression is a complex mix of physical, emotional and behavioral changes for women after giving birth. The study was conducted to assess the post-partum psychological status of the women and their post-operative recovery who have undergone LSCS. Descriptive design was adopted with N=50 samples. Age, education and religion were taken as demographic variables. Gravida, parity and complication were taken as obstetrical variables. The study revealed that there was a no association between the demographic and obstetrical variables with postpartum psychological status and post-partum recovery at 5% level of significance (p&0.05).
