Effectiveness of need based computer assisted education program on knowledge regarding substance abuse and its consequences among adolescent boys

Adolescent boys are recognized as a vulnerable group to substance abuse. Considering in view, a Need Based Computer Assisted Education program on knowledge regarding substance abuse and its consequences was conducted among 50 adolescent boys using non probability purposive sampling technique through structured questionnaire. Quantitative research approach with one group pre test and post test research design was used. Need based Computer Assisted Education Programme was provided as an Intervention after pre test and the post test was conducted after 15 days. The calculated paired ‘t’ test value was t=37.54 at p<0.05 level which indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between pre test and post test level of knowledge. Thus Need based educational Programme was found to be more effective.
