A smart phone is detrimental to a child's social-economic development as it diverts a child's attention and the use of interactive screen time on such devices could also impair a child's skill development. More than half of children under the age of 11years are now own a smart phone. As a result, parents and researchers have begun exploring the positive and negative effects of smart phones on child development. Self sufficiency, digital literacy, access to emergency services is its positive impact and as negative impact the behavioral consequences of smart phone dependency in children has received the attention of scholars across the world.
