Abstract

The newer technologies in the field of health care settings aids in rendering effective and quality care by reducing work overload and preventing co-morbidity among the pediatric population. Apnea of prematurity is one of the most common problems among the preterms admitted in NICU. Recurrent apnea, bradycardia, and hypoxemia in premature babies are indeed harmful. Severe apneas are associated with cerebral injury and advanced neuro- developmental disorders. Apneboot is a specially designed device to meet the needs of the health care setting in identification and correction of apnea in an area with low resources. By knowing the emerging technologies, the nursing personnel can provide a remarkable change in the care preterm.
