Abstract

A doctor may conduct a series of emergency operations known as paediatric advanced life support to help newborns who are gasping for air, not breathing, or have a weak heartbeat. The study was designed to assess the level of knowledge on paediatric advanced life support among staff nurses. Descriptive research design was used under the convenience sampling technique. Descriptive statistics allows the researcher to organize the data and to examine the quantum of information and inferential statistics used to determine the association. The findings of the study revealed that, out of 30 staff nurses 23 (77%) had adequate knowledge, 7 (23%) had moderate knowledge and none had inadequate knowledge. The researcher found that many staff nurses had adequate knowledge regarding paediatric advanced life support.
