Adolescence is a vulnerable period in the human life cycle for the development of academic anxiety. Jacobson's Progressive muscle relaxation technique is an alternative therapy to reduce anxiety. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation technique in reducing academic anxiety among adolescents. The research design selected for the study was pre experimental with one group pretest posttest design. A purposive sampling technique was followed to obtain a sample of 30 adolescents. Pre assessment on the level of academic anxiety was assessed. Jacobson's Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique was given by the researcher for a period of seven days. The post test was done using the same tool at the end of intervention. The findings showed that there was a significant reduction in the level of academic anxiety among adolescents who were received Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation technique.
