Effectiveness of self instructional module on knowledge regarding Kangaroo mother care among staff nurses

Kangaroo Mother Care is given for low-birth-weight babies in order to provide warmth and to improve the health and well- being of child. The present study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of self-instructional module on kangaroo Mother Care among Nurses. Pre test and post test was conducted by using structured questionnaire and distributed pamphlets. The findings revealed that there was a significant difference between pre and post-test knowledge level of KMC and the t value was 1.51, at p<0.01.Hence the teaching programme was effective in improving staff nurses on knowledge regarding Kangaroo Mother Care.
