Abstract

Growth Hormone deficiency (GHD) is a rare, but important cause of short stature among children. It occurs in isolation or combined with other pituitary hormone deficiencies. The Diagnosis is challenging and often requires referral. The Children must be started on recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH), to optimize the growth potential. and the response to treatment and potential adverse effects should be monitored. A child with known complaints of short stature was reviewed and identified with growth hormone deficiency and treated with Inj. Norditrophinsince one year. This short article gives an overview of the GHD and about benefits of Growth hormone therapy.
