Abstract

Refractive error makes a person hard to see clearly. A Pre experimental study was conducted on knowledge regarding prevention of refractive errors by adopting one group pre-test post-test research design with 30 adolescents selected by convenient sampling technique. Demographic data were collected and structured questionnaire used to assess the pre and post-test knowledge regarding prevention of refractive errors. Structured teaching proramme on prevention of refractive errors was administered to the adolescents. The statistical analysis revealed that there was significant difference in the post test knowledge after the intervention (t value = 7.13). The study concludedthat structured teaching programme improved the knowledge on prevention of refractive errors.
