Abstract

Children are the precious gift of God. The aim of the study was to improve the knowledgeregarding management of premature babies among nurses working in neonatal intensive care units. Pre experimental, one group pre-test post-test research design was adopted. Pre-test and structured teaching programme was given initially and post-test was conducted after seven days of intervention. 19 (63.34%) of nurses had adequate knowledge, there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test knowledge scores. Thus the structured teaching programme was effective in enhancing the knowledge of staff nurse on management of premature babies.
