Effectiveness of Information Booklet on Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Secondhand Smoking Among Adolescents

The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of information booklet on knowledge and attitude regarding secondhand smoking. A quantitative, pre experimental one group pretest and post-test research design was adopted. 100 adolescents were selected to assess the knowledge and attitude by using self structured questionnaire and 5-point Likert scale. In Pre-test, 87% of adolescents had inadequate knowledge, with mean and SD 11.59±3.29.In Post-test, 50% had adequate knowledge, with mean and SD 47.36±33.76. In Pre-test, 72% had unfavorable attitude with mean and SD 23.21±230.93. In Post-test, 82% had favorable attitude with mean and SD 46.01±6.42. Therefore, Information booklet was helpful to improve knowledge and attitude among adolescents.
