Abstract

Now-a-days young children are more prone to get into serious health issues due to their intense active nature, increased curiosity and immaturity leading to loss of life. This study aimed to conduct a quantitative research with pre experimental one group pre-test post-test research design on knowledge regarding paediatric emergencies among nursing students. A sample of 50 students were selected by convenient sampling technique. Demographic data was collected. Pre-test knowledge regarding paediatric emergencies was assessed. Simulation based training programme on paediatric emergencies was given after pre-test. The post-test was conducted after seven days following the programme. The study findings revealed that there was a significant difference in the pre-test and posttest knowledge with t value = 9.422, which proved that simulation based training programme was effective in improving the knowledge on paediatric emergencies.
