Urachus is a remnant of a channel between the bladder and the umbilicus where urine drains out in the fetal period during embryonic period. It usually closes by 12th week of gestation. When this does not happen, it results in Urachal Anomalies a rare condition. They are usually incidental findings and remain asymptomatic unless a complication mostly presented as infection. Infection of urachal sinus would be usually present with purulent discharge from the umbilicus and periumbilical mass. A child presented with foul smelling discharge from the umbilicus and included periumbilical redness. This short case report gives an overview of the urachal abnormalities and its management.
