Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a posterolateral defect of the diaphragm that causes passage of the abdominal viscera into the thorax. The mediastinum is displaced to the opposite side, the lungs are hypo plastic and their arterioles are abnormal leading to pulmonary hyperplasia & pulmonary hypertension. This case report summarizes the challenges of diagnosing congenital diaphragmatic hernia, associated etiologies and prognosis and nursing care of congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
