Abstract

Grandparents play an important role in every young child's life. A descriptive study among 100 grand parents rearing grandchildren were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results revealed that, all grandparents (100%) had positive perception towards child rearing, 5 9% of grandparents had little burden while rearing their grandchildren, The mean and standard deviation of perception of grandparents rearing grandchildren was (19.15 ± 1.89). The level of burden was 24.46 ± 17.77 respectively. There was a significant association between the care givers' burden and selected variables like age of grandparents and the age of grandchildren (p < 0.05).
