Abstract

Early childhood is a crucial period in lung development. Lower respiratory tract disorders can disrupt this development leading to a reduction in lung function. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of balloon-blowing exercise on respiratory Parameters in children with Lower respiratory tract disorders in a selected Hospital at Trichy. A Quasi experimental pre-test post-test control group design was adopted with a sample size of 62 children to conduct the study. Data was collected through Respiratory parameter assessment tool. The results showed that the there was significant improvement in the respiratory parameters (t-5.420, p-<0.001) and it showed that balloon blowing exercise was effective in enhancing the respiratory parameters among children with lower respiratory tract disorders.
