Menstruation is a natural phenomenon and a landmark event in the pubertal development of an adolescent girl. A systematic review done to synthesize data from the studies published from 2014 to 2018 related to menstruation among adolescent girls (11 -19 years) in India excluding systematic reviews and qualitative studies. A total of 21 articles which addressed at least any one of the research questions related to menstruation, urban and rural difference were reviewed from pubmed, google scholar and cochrane review. It was concluded that, dysmenorrhoea is the common problem reported followed by leg cramps and PMS which is more among urban girls than rural girls.
