Abstract

Children need immediate and prompt treatment to prevent lower respiratory tract infection. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of planned nursing intervention on prevention and management of lower respiratory tract infection among 60 mothers through Pretest knowledge and self reported practice followed by that planned nursing intervention was taught and post test was assessed on day five. The calculated mean and standard deviation of post test knowledge and practice scores of experimental and control groups were 22.36; 9.6 and 18.2; 9.73, respectively. The results revealed that there is a significant improvement in the knowledge and self reported practice.
