Child immunization coverage in India - are we nearing the target?

One of the major issues in reducing infant and child mortality among developing countries is the child immunization coverage. The present study determined the degree of immunization coverage among the Indian Children. The analysis of change over two and half decades (1992-2016) showed a considerable variation in child immunization coverage in India. The complete immunization coverage in India was considerably low as compared to the national target set of 88% by 2016 given by WHO and UNICEF. The study concludes that vigorous awareness campaigns are to be brought to achieve 100% immunization coverage.
