Angelman syndrome is a genetic disorder present at birth. The children with angelman syndrome presents with frequent smiles and laugh, feel happy and very excited. It is also called “Happy puppet syndrome”. It is a genetic disorder which affects the nervous system. Researchers do not know the exact cause that alters the gene. At birth, most babies do not have any signs and symptoms. The first sign indicated is developmental delay and further characterized by physical and intellectual disabilities.The symptoms are difficult to manage; the treatment focuses from various healthcare professionals in the aspect of medical and developmental issues.
