Abstract

Blood donation is an essential requirement all over the world to ensure that every individual and community access safe blood in an emergency situation. This study was aimed to assess attitude towards blood donation. Descriptive research design was adopted and 104 adolescents were selected by purposive sampling technique. Three-point Likert scale was developed by the investigator and used to collect the data. Nearly half of the adolescents 46% had a favourable attitude, 33% had moderately favourable attitude and the remaining 21% had an unfavourable attitude. Nurses must take responsibility to develop a positive attitude regarding blood donation through planned teaching methods.
