Abstract

Phototherapy is a non-invasive method for treating neonatal jaundice. After diagnosing the bilirubin level in the baby's blood by the neonatologist, the treatment begins with phototherapy. It is one of the most effective and safe methods for treating neonatal jaundice. This device uses fluorescent lamps, LEDs, optical fibers etc. Bilirubin reacts to the green and the blue light. Many studies show that the best light for the phototherapy is the light with the wavelength ranging from 400 to 520 nm, and with its absorption range of about 450 nm, blue light is used in phototherapy devices. In this article, the Phototherapy Machine is discussed.
