This review paper examines the prevalence, impact, and social-psychological consequences of gender discrimination within healthcare settings. Healthcare professionals, both men and women, are subject to unique challenges stemming from gender biases, which can manifest in various forms, such as unequal opportunities, pay disparities, and stereotyping. The consequences of such discrimination can significantly affect not only the wellbeing and career development of healthcare providers but also the quality of care offered to patients. This review paper examines studies across diverse healthcare sectors, including hospitals, primary care, and public health organizations, involving various healthcare providers such as doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff. This paper synthesizes findings from various studies across different healthcare settings and provides a comprehensive understanding of how gender discrimination influences healthcare workers’ social and psychological conditions.
