Abstract

Under The Leadership of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, And UNICEF have developed Specific “Mother-And Baby-Friendly” Service Standards in June 2011, this guideline Standard-3, refers that Service providers should have necessary behavioral and technical skills to provide integrated maternal and newborn services. To achieve MDGs 4 and 5, it is important to motivate every woman to use the public health services and available facilities on their own free will. It also has been found that efforts should be there to improve not only the technical & quality aspects but also the behavioral dimensions of care and treatment. Over and above if the facilities are judged as friendly and accessible by the clients, then only the utilization will increase. This research assesses the behavior of ANM/ASHA/AWWs/hospitals staff and Doctors as they are key persons who has technical knowledge and have direct influence in reproductive health concerns of women at large. This Research finds all above stakeholder's behavior is not up to the mark to encourage Institutional delivery practices or build confidence in government health facilities at grassroots level. Research finds that Mother-And Baby-Friendly services can be provided only if regular feedback will be taken from women beneficiaries by higher authorities and proper action will be taken to improve the service delivery with immediate effects.
