Sustainability is getting a wider connotation and its inclusion in human resource management is inevitable. Moral values ingrained in business policies with a sensitive approach to the natural environment holds appeal to the stakeholders. The essence of environmental ethics gets greater public acceptability if sustainable HRM advocates and propagates it. This conceptual paper aims at establishing a connect between sustainable HRM and environmental ethics by knitting it with human resource vital functionalities so that business organizations can draw maximum mileage out of it. The paper employs an exploratory cum descriptive research design to yield HR based outcomes in the direction of inclusion of eco-ethics so that the concept of environmental stewardship starts breeding among employees. Findings of the research are anticipated to hold promise for HR professionals, environment specialists, policy makers, ecoeducated employees and the society at large to look for sustainable HRM practices that has environment ethics interjected in its philosophy.
