Pre-islamic arabic poetry in social context-A brief study of some elements¹

This paper draws its source from the imagery of poetical narration. Several questions may be put on about this methodology. A curious mind may not be satisfied but relying on methods other than it is no less problematic as period of this area is not well documented, even documented. Several studies in Arabic and other language have published yet they heavily rely on the poetry to draw a historical sketch of society as non availability of other documents compels to rely on poetry. Studies on pre-Islamic Arabian society broadly can be divided in four categories/approaches.
