Abstract

In words of James” Youth is the joy, the little bird that has broken out of the eggs and is eagerly waiting to spread out its wings in the open sky of freedom and hope”. Youth is the universal phenomenon. Generally, youth is defined in biological term i.e. age. Youth as a biological category that falls between childhood and adulthood. Youth constitutes an important section of any society. It occupies a central position in any social structure. It is a very vigorous and dynamic force. Its proper understanding and channelization may build a new society whereas its negligence may have devastating effects. Keeping in view the important role which the youth can play towards national development, WHO declared 1985 as International Youth Year.
