Online e-learning courses have always been exciting for students but keeping in view of current scenario due to Covid-19 and precautionary majors implemented to ensure the safety of students, this is become the necessity to make a balance and ensure the uninterrupted learning teaching activities through availability of various e-learning platforms which provide facilities to connect the large academic community through webinars, virtual classrooms; e-learning has given colossal exposure to knowledge, which one can access right from home in the virtual form (ET Government 2020).
The objective of the study is to assess the implementation of virtual classes its various benefits, challenges, and reasons for non-acceptance / acceptance by the parents and children. as well as examines and ascertains the situation of virtual education during COVID-19 lockdown and understands its impact on children in India.
To carry out the study a Google form was prepared and sent all across the country using digital platforms such as facebook, Email, Linked In and WhatsApp. Participants of the study were parents, either of them, or the guardian who was helping the child in online classes. Only those parents/guardians who were on a digital platform and familiar with English language were included in the study. The study samples were selected through convenient sampling. Total sample size was 165 collected through digital platforms from across the country and analyzed by using MS-Excel.
It was found that most of the parents were satisfied with the role of the teacher in providing virtual e-learning. Key finding of the study is that most of the teachers were not able to focus on the behavioral aspects of teaching. This may be associated with the overburden on teachers who now have to prepare study materials under online education.
This study could be useful for teachers and educators to design an intervention to improve the dissemination of education through online e-learning.
