Abstract

Rama is the hero and His story what is known is Ramayana is the heart and soul of India symbolizing Indian culture based on eternal wisdom of ancient sages and seers. In fact, popularity of Ramayna extends far beyond the borders of this country. It has crossed all limits of popularity considering that it is recited everyday in thousands of homes in India, and outside world. Words that Rama spoke were sweet like nectar and a wise counsel that sought to achieve good of all. Rama upheld human values, one of which was, never deviate from the promises one makes. For Lord Rama upholding father's word once given to mother Kaikeyi was more sacrosanct than accepting Bharat's appeal to return home from exile. The paper reviews Lord Rama as epitome of moral virtues and ethical behaviour, and as repository of human values and leadership qualities, which are appropriate for leaders in all spheres, be it, public service or corporate world.
