Under this study, ten crosses were made between (i) Huskless X Husked (ii) Husked X Huskless (iii) Husked X Husked and only eight were successful. The majority of F plants showed intermediate 1 vegetative growth as compared to parents but few F hybrids showed better growth. Flowering was 1 delayed in F hybrids where as it was intermediate in F as compared to parents. Meiosis in F hybrids 121 of all the crosses was normal. Certain meiotic irregularities like occurrence of univalents, delayed separation and unequal distribution of chromosomes to the poles at Anaphase I were noticed in some PMCs.
