The importance of insecticides increased considerably with the knowledge that the organism may become effected by their application. Two insecticides namely, Nuvacron and Dimecron were tried in various percentage concentrations (0.0001, 0.001, 0.01 and 0.1) for a duration of 2, 4 and 6 hours. One of the Cladophoralean alga,Cladophora crispata (Roth) Kuetz was selected for such studies. Observations were recorded with reference to survival percentage, dry weight, chlorophyll content, morphological and cytological variations.
