Aquatic Macrophytes of Lentic and Lotic Water Bodies of Balrampur – India

Abstract

District Balrampur lies in between 26°48' N to 27°55" and is situated in Shivalik hills at the foothill region of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Aquatic flora of different water bodies e.g. rivers, ravines, drains, ponds, ditches, pits, puddles, marshes, etc. was studied and 53 species belonging to 48 different genera of four different groups viz, algae(3), bryophytes(2), pteridophytes(5) and angiosperms(37) were recorded. The economic importance of some species has also been described.
