Effect of Culture Methods on Weed Population and Grain Yield of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

A field experiment was conducted at Kargaina village, Bareilly during 2005–06 to study the effect of cultural methods on weeds and grain yield of wheat. The experiment consisted of six weed management treatments in three replicates. Close row spacing of 15 cm. resulted in poor population and dry weight of weeds as compared to other treatments. The maximum grain yield was recorded in weed free treatment (6143 kg/ha) and minimum in weedy control (3565 kg/ha). All culture methods increased the number of tillers/plant, grain and straw yield of wheat over the weedy control.
