Studies on Air Mycoflora over the Field of Cannabis sativa L. in Almora Hills

Aeromycoflora over the crop of Cannabis sativa was studied in relation to meteorological factors in Almora hills, Uttarakhand. The study of air mycoflora was done throughout the crop season from March to October (2006) on alternate months using culture plate method. Cladosporium cladosporioides and Alternaria alternata was the dominant fungal species followed by Aspergillus niger, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium oxysporum and Penicillium chrysogenum. The relationship between rainfall and humidity was negatively correlated. The average temperature is 28.1ºC which is almost optimum and may not affect the fungal growth. The aeromycofloral count was maximum in September and minimum in July.
