Three new introgressed lines named as K304, K312 and K316 were morphologically selected and evaluated using cytological and molecular markers. Introgression was observed for different quantitative and qualitative traits. Introgressed lines flowered and matured earlier than Brassica carinata (check). Length of main shoot and test weight was higher as compared to parents. Cytogenetic analysis of progenies between Brassica juncea (2n=36 represented by 36) and B. carinata (2n=34) revealed their ((2n=34[ABBC] (B. compestris=10 +B. nigra=16 +B. oleracia=8)) chromosome in the progeneis of successive generations. Introgression was also confirmed using RAPD markers. Findings proved that introgressed progenies K 304, K 312 and K 316 have genes for early maturity, long shoot length and high yielding traits.
