Abstract

Present investigation involving fifty one varieties of rice was undertaken to compare efficiency of RAPD, SSR and ISSR molecular markers for estimation of genetic diversity. The results indicated that ISSR expressed maximum resolving power and RAPD gave maximum PIC values where as SSR primers were highly polymorphic. The three molecular marker systems together provided wider genome coverage and were found to be better indicator of the genetic relatedness among genotypes.
