There is hardly any water body which has not been explored in Rajasthan for the collection of aquatic algae which encompasses 9 classes i.e. Chlorophyta, Charophyta, Bacillariophyta, Xanthophyta, Chrysophyta, Dinophyta, Euglenophyta, Rhodophyta and Cyanophyta. So far 425 species comprising of 111 genera have been enlisted.
