Abstract

A new foliicolous hyphomycete, Asperisporium pongamiae-pinnatiae, isolated from leaf spots of Pongamia pinnata L. (Papilionaceae), collected from Banaras Hindu University campus in Varanasi, U.P., India, is described, illustrated and compared with similar taxa in this paper. Besides light microscopy, conidia and conidiomata were examined using a scanning electron microscope.
