Abstract

The genetic diversity of 54 rice genotypes using 20 SSR primers on chromosome numbers 7–12 was investigated. DNA was extracted by CTAB method. The banding pattern was analyzed using UP GMA based on Jaccard's coefficient. Total eleven primers showed polymorphism. Similarity coefficients ranged from 0.37 to 0.98. The dendrogram revealed 2 distinct clusters. The PIC value for the SSR loci ranged from 0.37 to 0.98 indicating higher level of polymorphism.
