Abstract

Investigations were carried out at College of Agriculture, Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad to screen guar genotypes. A set of 22 guar diverse genotypes were used for the study. The studywas intendedtoidentifytheenvironmentalconditions responsible for realization of higher seed and gum yields and to determine the protein and galactomannan content in seeds among genotypes, during the different seasons i.e. Kharif, Rabi and summer. Guar seed quality traits i.e. galactomanman content, percent endosperm, viscousity, total carbohydrate and protein contents were not significantlyinfluenced bytheenvironment. The valuesfor these seed quality characters were followed almost a similar trend across the three seasons of sowing with inconsistent differences.
