Rights of women under the constitution of India: Legal perspectives

Abstract

For a healthy, peaceful and prosperous life fundamental rights are bare necessities under the Indian constitution. The Parliament of India has been empowered by the constitution to impose certain laws with reasonable restrictions on the enjoyment of rights. The Supreme Court plays an important role for protecting the fundamental rights in India. Thus, it is for this objective in order to eradicate the problems relating to women's in India on the ground of discrimination in favour of women for the socio-economic, educational and political disadvantaged as faced by them. The different Articles contained in the Indian constitution are dealt for certain specific standards of conduct, citizenship, justice and fair-play. The Parliament of India has been empowered by the constitution to impose specific law for reasonable restrictions on the enjoyment of rights.
