Indian judiciary plays an important role in the interpretation and application of the law. In countries where gender inequality is very prevalent, such as education, health care, and employment, justice plays a central role in empowering women and closing this gender gap. The Constitution of India contains several provisions to protect and uphold the rights of women and protect the interests of women, many of which still recognize the rights given to women by law.
