Liability of airlines towards passengers in international carriage by air

The article discusses the evolution of the law of air transport related to the liability of air carriers towards passengers. Montreal Convention 1999 is an attempt to replace the old Warsaw System instruments. India has also ratified the Convention. Now the issue of quantum of compensation under MC 99 is pending before the apex court after the Mangalore crash.
